The main aim of the Group is to improve the situation in fishing dependent areas around the North Sea seen in relation to people living there as well as to the fishing stocks and to the environment.
The Marine Resources Group holds two meetings of the full Group every year and two meetings of the Group Politicians.
The aim of the Politicians meeting is to discuss and prepare the priorities of the Group for the coming year and to provide the opportunity for the Politicians to discuss and highlight specific issues relevant to their own areas, which may need the support of the Group.
Recently a number of thematic sub-groups were established to meet more frequently with the purpose to develop and prepare concrete projects.
