Provincie Zeeland, the North Sea Commission and the Interreg IIIB North Sea Programme invite all interested to attend our joint conference “Working together for the future” the 15th – 17th June 2005 near Middelburg and Vlissingen in Zeeland, the Netherland.
This is the first joint conference arranged by the North Sea Commission and the Interreg IIIB North Sea Programme. The North Sea Commission and the Interreg IIIB North Sea Programme have for several years with great success held their respective General Assembly and Annual Conference at the same venue on consecutive days. However, this year we will join forces to plan for the future.
We have invited some interesting speakers including Commissioner Danuta Hübner and Vice-Chair of Committee of the Regions Sir Albert Bore.
The theme of the conference is “Working together for the future”; we will discuss and give input to the future of the structural funds past 2006 and the updated spatial agenda for the North Sea Region.
This first joint conference will take place at a particularly relevant time. The first results of research currently taking place on the Spatial Agenda for the North Sea Region will be available. The key selected themes include coastal water management, transport and innovation and the conference will kick off the public consultation process. These findings will lay the foundations for the new North Sea Programme.
In addition, the Interreg IIIB North Sea Programme Secretariat will arrange an exhibition of their running projects, giving you the chance to find out more about what is going on all over the region.
We very much hope that you will be able to attend the conference and actively participate in planning for the future. This event will be a unique opportunity to meet old and new colleagues from around the North Sea region, to exchange ideas and be inspired by the immense amount of work being carried out around the North Sea.
